In honor of Elton and Toni Mask's home sale, Tesha is proud to make a donation of $2,325 to the Cowlitz County Habitat for Humanity! Thank you, Elton and Toni, for trusting Tesha and the Giving Group team with your sale and providing us with the opportunity to help bless others in our community through this donation.
Elton's brother works for this amazing organization, and he wanted to give back to the community. As a builder himself, Elton knows the importance of homeownership firsthand!
About Cowlitz County Habitat for Humanity.
Cowlitz County Habitat for Humanity's Homeownership program has a wonderful process of providing a helping hand up and not a "hand out": participants of this program work at least 500 hours within the Habitat for Humanity organization to earn "sweat equity" for their new home:
"Sweat equity is an exciting learning experience in which you work with family, neighbors, and friends to build other homeowners’ homes as well as your own. Working alongside volunteers and future neighbors to build your home and community is one of the most rewarding aspects of Habitat for Humanity. In addition to working on the construction site, there are many ways to complete sweat equity hours such as: Working at the Cowlitz County Habitat main Office, Habitat for Humanity Store; helping with homeowner outreach, special events and attending classes on home maintenance and financial fitness." -cowlitzhabitat.org/homeownership
They also tailor their mortgages to set up new homeowners for success, and mortgage payments are recycled into the program to build more homes!
