Weekend events in Clark and Cowlitz Counties, Washington

Looking for a reason to get out and enjoy Southwest Washington this weekend? From art, history and farmers markets in Clark County to live music, movies and community events in Cowlitz County, there are plenty of ways to make the most of Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6.

Friday, September 4

Clark County

  • First Friday Art Walk, Downtown Vancouver, 5 to 8 p.m.
    Spend the evening exploring downtown galleries, local art and participating businesses during Vancouver’s monthly First Friday Art Walk. Admission is free.
  • Haunted Walking Tour, Clark County Historical Museum, 7 to 8 p.m.
    For a seasonal twist, join a guided evening walk focused on local history and spooky stories.
  • Free Summer Movie Night, Lake Sacajawea in Longview, 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.
    Pack a blanket or lawn chair for an outdoor showing of Wicked at Hemlock Plaza. Pre-movie activities begin at 7:30 p.m., and the movie starts at dusk.
  • Fun Hours, Longview Public Library, 9 a.m. to noon
    A caregiver-and-child open-play option for children ages 6 to 24 months, with toys, books and blocks available.

Saturday, September 5

Clark County

  • Ridgefield Multicultural Festival, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Celebrate the community through cultural activities, food and family-friendly programming at Overlook Park. Admission is free.
  • Ridgefield Farmers Market, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    Shop local produce, prepared foods and handmade goods while enjoying downtown Ridgefield.
  • Downtown Vancouver Market, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Browse the market near Esther Short Park for fresh food, local makers and a relaxed downtown outing.
  • Cowlitz Community Farmers Market, Cowlitz County Event Center in Longview, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    Pick up local produce, artisan goods and market treats at the weekly community market.

Sunday, September 6

Clark County

  • Downtown Vancouver Market, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Wrap up the weekend with another chance to shop local near Esther Short Park.
  • Make it a local day.
    Pair the market with a walk along the Vancouver Waterfront, a coffee stop downtown or time at one of Clark County’s parks.
